In April, 20 refugee women of nine different nationalities – including Ukraine, Tunisia and Bangladesh – successfully concluded their journey as part of our job-readiness programme Boost. After ten weeks of polishing CVs, sharpening LinkedIn profiles, mock interviews, and more, they met recruiters and HR professionals as part of a networking event Sistech organised for them in Paris.
One by one, they presented their skills in cybersecurity, data, web development, and other fields, and described their plans for the future. While their backgrounds are diverse, they share a common goal: To rebuild their lives in France and break into the tech industry. Driven by their resilience and talent, these women now have their sights set on the future. Joséphine Goube, founder of Sistech, said it best: "They didn't get to choose the tragedies that pushed them to leave their homelands. But they are deciding their futures, they are picking ambitious careers in France." It was a moment of courage and hope, that promises not only to transform their lives, but an industry where women remain underrepresented.
This month Sistech also wrapped up our career orientation programme Pathway, in Italy and Greece, where we supported another 45 and 35 refugee women respectively. With renewed confidence and clear goals to guide them, many of these women will dive into certified technical trainings in May. These professional adventures are possible thanks to your generous contributions, and we are grateful that so many people keep us moving forward.
In gratitude,
The Sistech team
