Sistech empowers uprooted and displaced women through access to tech and digital job opportunities. Operating in France, Italy, and Greece, our free programmes include mentoring, certified training, and professional networking opportunities. We partner with companies committed to diversity, connecting them with a pool of talented refugee women. To date, 70% of participants have launched new careers, paving the way towards their inclusion in Europe.
Refugee women remain one of the most overlooked groups in the labour market. Five years after arriving in Europe, 80% are still unemployed, a rate double that of their male counterparts. Those who do find jobs are often overqualified, with more than 60% accepting roles far below their skill levels. Traditional workforce integration programmes focus on low-skilled jobs, denying many women opportunities that match their potential.
Sistech empowers hundreds of refugee women in France, Italy and Greece through free mentoring, training and networking. Our Fellowship offers three programmes: Pathway (career orientation), Springboard (certified tech training), and Boost (job readiness), so they can join us at any stage of their professional journeys. Fellows receive holistic support, including childcare, transportation and language classes.
Our first cohort in 2018 consisted of 12 women. Today, Sistech supports more than 300 refugee women annually, equipping them with skills that lead to sustainable employment. Sistech alumnae secure jobs in leading companies, break their economic dependency, and launch exciting new careers. With the industry projected to face an 8-million IT professional shortage by 2030, European tech also stands to benefit. Sistech bridges this gap, while promoting diversity, innovation and resilience.
