Empower Children in Peru and Cambodia-June 22

By Daniel Mullins | Director of Development

Hello everyone,

Thank you so much for all your help and the generous donations you have made to help our projects in both Cambodia and Peru. We could not continue doing the important work in these communities without the overwhelming support of our volunteers and donors. So, a huge thank you from all of us here at Globalteer!

We just wanted to update you on the continued success of our project to Empower Vulnerable Children.

In Cambodia:

By this point, most of our teachers are experienced with our policies and have received ample training in this area. Recently, our Helping Hands school in Cambodia has traslated our Child Protection Policy into Khmer. This was then distributed to the teachers and discussed during staff meetings. Next, the head teacher followed up with each individual instructor to ensure a perfect understanding of the material and answer any remaining questions. For new employees, we have planned new teacher training sessions for the coming months. Best practices in Child Protection will be a feature of those sessions to ensure comlete safety for our educational environment.

In Peru:

In the same manner, our program in Peru has taken on the task of translating our full Child Protection Policy into Spanish to distribute among the staff. The head of our school managed this project and then trained the teachers in child protection procedures. In this way, we can ensure every teacher at each school understands the material in his or her own native language.

GlobalGiving Bonus Day:

We also wanted to let you know about July Bonus Day through GlobalGiving. On July 20th, and only July 20th, GlobalGiving is matching any donation of $100 or more! $100-$500 gifts are matched at 30%, $500-$750 donations at 40%, and $750-$1000 amounts recieve a 50% match. We already have pledges that get us off to a good start and we are looking for more! We have already raised a good amount toward our goals in both countries from your support. The benefit of giving on this day is that, in contrast to your past donations, now your gifts raise more money on their own!

If you have any questions about the projects, Bonus Day, or our organization, please don't hesitate to reach out to us! My name is Daniel Mullins. I am the new Director of Development (over donations, donors, and fundraising). My email is below and I would love to hear from you about why you've donated to these projects, and what we can do to keep you more informed. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Gratefully,

Daniel Mullins
