A Shared Mission Across Continents
Whether in the rural villages of Siem Reap or the Andean highlands of Oropesa, the final quarter of 2025 has been a season of transformation. While the landscapes differ, the challenges, economic hardship, seasonal obstacles, and educational gaps remain similar. Thanks to your unwavering support, we continue to provide a sanctuary where over 400 children can learn, grow, and dream beyond their circumstances.
Quarterly Impact at a Glance
Students Supported Indicator Helping Hands (Cambodia) 362 (including 52 new)
1. Education: From Foundations to Future Leaders
In Cambodia, we celebrated the start of a new academic year. Our classrooms are buzzing with energy thanks to the new "Let’s Go" English workbooks and a stronger focus on digital literacy. We are especially proud of our four university students, like Sreyneang and Vannak, who are currently breaking the cycle of poverty by pursuing degrees in Teaching and Public Administration.
In Peru, Picaflor House became a vital hub during the high-stakes end-of-year exam season. Our Computing classes have empowered children with technical skills in Word and Excel, while our Reading Club has provided a voice to students who often lack academic support at home. By the end of December, 95% of our students showed measurable improvement in math and literacy.
2. Sustainability: Fostering Environmental Protectors
This quarter, both projects turned environmental education into a celebration of creativity:
The Recycle Race (Cambodia): A high-energy event where students competed to sort waste, learning that a healthy life begins with a clean environment.
Eco-Friendly Halloween (Peru): Instead of buying costumes, students transformed "trash" into treasure, creating innovative outfits from recycled materials and parading through the Oropesa square to showcase the power of reuse.
3. Holistic Well-being & Nutrition
We believe a hungry child cannot learn.
From the Garden to the Table: In Cambodia, students and our intern Henry nurture a school garden that provides fresh ingredients for our daily breakfasts.
Emotional Literacy: In Peru, our volunteer Mia led Emotional Intelligence workshops, teaching children to identify and express their feelings, a revolutionary act of self-awareness in a community facing high social pressure.
Health Essentials: We continue to provide hygiene kits and workshops, delivering 9 dedicated sessions in Cambodia to ensure personal care remains a priority.
4. Community, Culture, and Inspiration
Our programs bridge the gap between education and the real world through meaningful excursions and traditions:
Entrepreneurship in Siem Reap: Students visited "Repeat Secondhand Fashion," where local business owner Darron Gurney taught them about the circular economy and sustainable business models.
Tradition in the Andes: We closed the year with the beloved "Chocolatada," sharing hot chocolate, panetón, and gifts, celebrating the resilience of our students and the strength of the Oropesa community.
Global Harmony: A special performance by Music Sharing ICEP from Japan brought the magic of string instruments to our Cambodian students, fostering emotional resilience through music.
Stories of Transformation
Daniela (Peru): Once struggling with basic math, she now independently completes complex worksheets and has become one of our most fluent readers.
Roger (Peru): Formerly shy, Roger was appointed as our "Mobile Library Monitor," transforming into a confident mentor for younger children.
Sreyneang (Cambodia): As a first-generation university student, she is thriving in her English Teaching degree, proving that education lifts entire families.
A Legacy of Hope: Thank You
None of these milestones the 7,775 meals, the academic breakthroughs, or the environmental lessons would be possible without you.
Your generosity is the foundation upon which these children build their futures. Whether it is providing a safe space in the Andes or a university scholarship in Cambodia, you are the constant that ensures education never stops. From the bottom of our hearts, and on behalf of the children and teams in Cambodia and Peru: Thank you for believing in the infinite potential of every child we serve.
