Moving Forward: Education across the World

By Daniel Mullins | Director of Development

Hello Everyone,

We were elated to receive two donations from our last GlobalGiving Report! I wanted to thank you so much for these contributions and let you know how much they mean to us here at Globalteer. Please continue to read our updates and, if willing, sacrifice financially for the good of others.

For this update, we wanted to let you know all the exciting things happening at both of our schools a world apart. Our Picaflor House, in Peru, and our Helping Hands schhol in Cambodia.

Peru:

At Picaflor House, the children continue to receive nutritious lunches everyday. Our staff works hard to teach core subjects and the students are excelling. The Pandemic caused schools to be closed for the better part of two years. Countries around the world have found that levels of learning have declined and Peru is no exception. Our teachers and students have a challenging time ahead, but they are facing the task with dilligence.

Students continue to be sheltered in a safe environment after school ends. Our committment to safe child policies allows children to feel like they are in an area without risk, and thus, to learn better. In addition to safety, they also have fun, practicing cultural dances in full customary attire. Overall, it is a place of satefy, learning, and fun, as kids plunge forward through their post-pandemic education.

Cambodia:

Here in Cambodia, our team continues to deliver the education program that is vital for the young people of Prasat Char village and beyond. The students have been able to maintain high levels of motivation for learning despite the significant challenges that many of them face, and they are grateful to have the support of their teachers. This month they are building on their usual curriculum with a series of workshop sessions that focus on self-awareness and character building, plus classroom management strategies for the teachers.

Over the last three months, we have taken on two new coaches, and brought the sports classes back to our outreach partner schools. The teachers and students at these schools were all very pleased to see the return of our team, and grateful for the opportunity to have structured physical activity in their programs again.

If you'd like any more information about our programs, please don't hesitate to ask.
