Empower with literacy

At ALNF, we believe that literacy is freedom – literacy allows individuals to access education, participate meaningfully in our society and to have a voice. It is a basic human right.

We partner with communities big and small across Australia, empowering individuals to be their own change-makers through strong language, literacy and communication skills.

Through this work, we know that one of the many learning challenges faced by children from marginalised communities is the lack of access to basic educational and literacy resources.

ALNF’s Literacy Pack program directly addresses this issue, equipping children and young people with the vital learning and school supplies they need to be active participants in their own learning journey both in the classroom and at home.

So far this year, we have distributed over 2,300 life-changing Literacy Packs to children across Australia, with a particular focus on supporting rural and remote regions such as Alice Springs in NT, the Kimberley region of WA, and the Mid North Coast of NSW.

Students have been excited to receive these resources and are demonstrating increased engagement in classroom activities throughout the day, equipped with the right tools for effective learning.
