In many parts of the world, structures and social norms that endanger women and girls still exist and even thrive. Violence against women remains prevalent. Over a third of women worldwide experience violence and less than 40% seek help. Early and unintended pregnancy continues to jeopardize the health and future of over 50% of women worldwide young girls. Multiple global crises have further exacerbated these issues and have made access to sexual health and reproductive rights more difficult.
Our captivating media has proven to counter misinformation and harmful gender norms, shifting attitudes and behaviors, which lead to more access to sexual and reproductive health services, changes in attitudes and behaviors that condemns child marriage, domestic violence, and sexual assault, and policy changes that allow pregnant girls to continue their education. Our programs are sustainable because they develop the capacity of local partners so they can continue to drive change.
Changing harmful perceptions about women's bodily autonomy and sexual healthon a greater scale will lead to fewer maternal deaths and give women and girls more opportunities for education and financial independence. And, communities' social and economic development will also improve. Up to 90% of our audience members report changing their attitudes and behaviors thanks to our programs.
