ATC is presenting our work to the public in Michigan next month!

Monika Goforth, Program Director for the Appropriate Technology Collaborative will present a lively and informative talk on her experience heading the Mayan Power and Light program. Come learn about how ATC’s approach to development empowers communities to solve local problems with local resources.  

Sept 15, 2016: Talk at Michigan State University International Center 3rd Floor at 12:00 Noon

Sept 16, 2016: Interview on WCBN Radio with Rebecca Hardin at 12:00 Noon

Sept 16, 2016: Intimate Fundraiser and Happy Hour at Zing Train, Ann Arbor 6:00 pm

Sept 21, 2016: Talk at ICPJ Meeting House on Hill Street, Ann Arbor at 7:00 pm

Mayan Power and light is listed among the world's top 100 leaders in global sustainability according to Sustainia, a Copenhagenbased rm working in partnership with the United Nations Sustainable Development Program.

Monika’s talks will address:

  • Successful social ventures
  • Indigenous women’s empowerment
  • Solar power to create opportunity, reduce poverty, and improve health
  • Creating jobs with affordable clean energy
  • Michigan State Humanitarian Engineering Projects
