Balisa won the Trialogue Donor's Den 2018!

We are excited to share with you some of our highlights since the beginning of 2018! We have received awards and gained exposure to great platforms of funding; proving our excellence and commitment in the work that we do in the communities we serve.

Our North West branches continued to strengthen its partnerships with the Department of Education. The Bokone Bophirima Department of Education and Sport Development (DoE) as the custodian of the Quality Learning and Teaching Committee (QLTC) Awards invited both our Ikageng and Mahikeng branches to a gala ceremony at provincial level on the 24th March 2018. We are proud to announce that both branches received an award for Excellence in Stakeholders Participation. Two Ikageng tutors, Shaun and Boitumelo and two tutors from Mahikeng, Solomon and Teboho were also recognised for Excellence in Volunteerism.  A big thank you to these young people and the work that they do to impact others!

We were also honoured to be recognised by EMpower as the awardee to become their 2018 Champion of Youth. Each year, they present this award to a longstanding EMpower grantee partner that has demonstrated excellence in their work. Marta, the President of EMpower, writes that “IkamvaYouth truly exemplifies what it means to be a ‘Champion’ of youth. Your organizational strengths and commitment to serving youth are evident through your many accomplishments.”

Quintress, IkamvaYouth tutor eloquently shared her story in a room full of VIPs while accepting IkamvaYouth's Champion of the Youth Award in New York City with our Director Joy in March this year.Quintress as she continues to be part of the IkamvaYouth team as an intern newly appointed in May 2018.

Our Ebony Park branch in Gauteng won a silver award at from Gauteng Premier’s Youth Excellence awards. The award was presented to initiatives that positively contribute towards building cohesive and sustainable communities in Gauteng through excellent delivery of service. This win came with  alongside with prize money, which will contribute immensely to our Ebony Park branch. Most recently, IkamvaYouth was crowned the winner of the the Donors' Den prize at the Business in Society Conference organised by Trialogue. This prize also comes with a prize money towards our Joza branch.

All these awards would not be possible without your support.  Thank you so much!

We would like to share with you our latest 'about us' video here.
