For a poor woman living with HIV/AIDS in Rwanda, the challenges are threefold:
Economic hardship, stigma, and lack of employment/credit opportunities due to discrimination.
Human Rights First Rwanda Association organized meetings with various stake holders and partners to highlight challenges being faced by women with HIV/AIDS and how they can be supported in the post COVID-19 recovery process. Most of our beneficiaries were running small business and were adversely affected with the outbreak of the pandemic.
We intend in the coming months to launch an initiative that will provide HIV/AIDS positive women in Kamonyi district with the business/marketing training, technical skills, and self-confidence necessary to run small businesses.
The aim is geared at supporting the beneficiaries to live their lives with dignity that stems from economic and social independence. The program also will aim to address issues relating to stigma, injustices, discrimination, violence and self-esteem by providing a support network.
With your continued support we will better the lives of this vulnerable women.
