This quarter, ORG Bahamas took an exciting step forward in empowering young people through the launch of Pathway to the Polls, a new initiative designed to help Bahamian youth understand the importance of civic participation—especially voting—and the role their voices can play in shaping the future of their country.
For many young people, the democratic process can feel distant or complicated. Pathway to the Polls was created to change that. Through accessible civic education, discussions about national issues, and youth-focused engagement activities, the program helps young Bahamians better understand how government decisions affect their lives, their communities, and their opportunities for the future.
At its core, the initiative encourages young people to see themselves not just as future voters, but as active participants in the life of their nation today. By learning how civic engagement works and why it matters, youth gain the confidence to ask questions, share their perspectives, and take part in conversations about the future of The Bahamas.
We are already seeing encouraging enthusiasm from young people who want to learn more about their role in strengthening democracy and building a more transparent and accountable society.
In the coming months, ORG will continue expanding Pathway to the Polls through additional youth outreach, educational resources, and partnerships with schools and community organizations. Our goal is to ensure that young Bahamians across the country have the knowledge, tools, and inspiration they need to participate meaningfully in civic life.
Your support helps make this possible. Together, we are helping the next generation of Bahamians find their voice—and their power—to shape a brighter future.
