Since the last update, the Girls Club has continued to provide enriching experiences that foster growth, empowerment, and a sense of community among its members.
This year, the Girls Club seeks to continue fostering the understanding that every girl in the program recognizes her value as a woman. Despite challenging circumstances, the club emphasizes the importance of not giving up on their education and dreams. Additionally, we are working toward ensuring the continuity of the club through the involvement of its most senior members. These experienced girls have shown interest and capability in stepping into mentoring roles to guide and support the new generations.
The girls visited the Nahim Isaias Museum and the Municipal Museum of Guayaquil, where they had the opportunity to learn about the rich culture and history of Ecuador. These visits allowed them to connect with the country's origins through interactive exhibits and engaging workshops. These activities deepened their understanding of their heritage and inspired them to reflect on their cultural identity.
To celebrate the end of the year, the club organized an exciting trip to a water park, providing a joyful and memorable experience for all participants. As part of the holiday festivities, the foundation gifted each girl a backpack and an agenda to support their academic journeys in both high school and university.
This year, the Girls Club has resumed its sessions with renewed energy and purpose. Two workshops have already taken place, marking a warm welcome for new members. During the first session, newcomers were invited to introduce themselves and, through games, begin building bonds with the long-standing members. This playful approach created an atmosphere of inclusion and connection.
In the most recent workshop, the girls focused on strengthening these relationships by collaboratively establishing norms and agreements within the club. This activity promoted active participation, mutual respect, and a collective commitment to maintaining a positive group dynamic. One of the key activities, "The Balloon Path," required the girls to hold hands and guide a balloon across the room without touching it directly. This challenge encouraged teamwork and communication while fostering a spirit of friendly competition.
These recent initiatives continue to reinforce the Girls Club as a safe and empowering space where young girls can grow together, learn from one another, and develop the skills and confidence needed to achieve their goals. The club remains dedicated to inspiring its members to pursue their dreams with resilience and unity.
