Little X Little Campaign Starts 14th - 18th Sept!

By Louise | Managing Director

We are one of the organizations participating in the upcoming Little by Little Campaign designed to double your gift and our impact! The Little by Little Campaign is five days, September 14-18, where all donations up to $50 will be matched by 50% during the campaign, and the funds will not run out!  Last year our campaign raised $8,000 from our passionate donors, and we can’t wait to raise even more this year!

The funds raised were used to help us expand our Life Skills program into areas of Phalobowra and Thohoyandou.

The resources allowed us to produce materials on Leadership, Anger Management, Avoiding Pitfalls of Peer Pressure, Self-Esteem and Social Awareness. These skills are not taught in school and as a result the community of Limpopo has seen higher rates of pregnancy (from 82,736 in 2015 to 99,228 in 2019) and HIV infections (estimated at 2,000 weekly among girls aged 15-24). In response to these startling numbers, Keep The Dream 196 designed a series of lessons aimed at grades 4-12 to teach relevant, engaging and age-appropriate education in a safe setting. The lesson plans and supportive environment allows for our young people to develop appropriate life skills to support healthy choices, as well as promote respect for themselves and their community.

This year we hope to raise even more, and we need your help to reach our goals! By donating just $50 you’ll provide us with the ability to expand Life Skills Program to reach an additional 500 young people to further reduce the spread of HIV and teen pregnancies.

If you’re interested in making a donation and having your gift matched up to 50%, or wish to learn more about our cause, visit our website http://www.keepthedream196.com

We wish to thank you in advance for your support! Every donation, no matter the size, takes us one step closer to achieving our goals.
