Empowering Greek Rural Heroes with Business Skills

The "AgroAnelixi - Farmers of the Future 2024” agrifood business accelerator is being implemented for the 5th consecutive year by the organization New Agriculture New Generation. The program is aimed at cooperatives, processing units and businesses, producer groups, farmers, livestock farmers, beekeepers, and home-based businesses that process or wish to process their production to create new differentiated products or further develop products they already produce.

The Open Call for applications, started in April 2024 and ended in June 2024. Out of all the applications,16 small and very small businesses from different areas of Greece, were selected after being interviewed, to participate in the 6-month acceleration program.

The selected businesses, participate in educational workshops, where they receive practical business knowledge, insights, and guidance for creating new differentiated products, as well as personalized consulting support from experienced market professionals, based on their specific needs, without any financial burden. Each participant can receive 20 hours of consulting support in total. Finally, during the program, the New Agriculture New Generation Team and experts from the industry will conduct field visits at participants’ production units around Greece, to offer on – site support.

The educational workshops started on June 27th and up to date 6 out of 22 modules have been covered, including the following:

• Food Safety and Food Quality Systems
• International Trends and Innovation in Food
• Food Labeling and European Legislation

At the same time, all the 16 participants started their tailored consulting support, as well as part of the field visits at the production units of the business have been completed. Especially, the experts and our team have travelled to Corinth, Kos Island and Argos, Greece.
