Empowering Greek Rural Heroes with Business Skills

The "AgroAnelixi - Farmers of the Future 2024" agrifood business accelerator has successfully implemented by New Agriculture New Generation. This initiative provided valuable support to small and very small businesses across Greece, including cooperatives, processing units, farmers, livestock farmers, beekeepers, and home-based businesses focused on creating or enhancing differentiated agrifood products.

In 2024, the program completed its educational workshops, covering critical topics such as digital marketing, export and sales strategies, supply chain and logistics for agrifood products, and sustainability in agrifood. Additionally, each of the 16 selected businesses received personalized consulting tailored to their unique needs and challenges, ensuring they received the necessary guidance for their specific growth strategies.

The first round of field visits to the production units of the participating businesses was also completed in 2024. These visits, conducted in various regions of Greece, allowed us to assess the initial progress of each business. The second round of visits, which will focus on evaluating the ongoing progress of the businesses, is scheduled to take place during summer of 2025. This action, will provide an opportunity to reflect on the evolution of these businesses nearly a year after the completion of the AgroAnelixi 2024 program.

In November 2024, a Networking Event was implemented to bring together participants from both the current and previous cycles of the AgroAnelixi program. This event offered a valuable opportunity for participants to exchange experiences, discuss challenges, and explore potential new collaborations. It served as a platform to strengthen connections within the agrifood community and create new synergies that could benefit businesses in the future.

Since the beginning of 2025, we have started preparations for the new cycle of the program. The "AgroAnelixi - Farmers of the Future 2025", will be officially announced in April 2025, and applications will open for new businesses, producers, and agricultural cooperatives. We are excited to continue supporting the growth and sustainability of Greece's agrifood sector by providing training, consulting, and personalized guidance to new participants, including agricultural and women’s cooperatives, as well as producer groups.
