Our girls did it. "Hijas del Bosque" (Daughters of the Forest) has won first place in the national phase of the VI Ibero-American Human Rights Education Award "Óscar Arnulfo Romero," presented by the OEI (Organization of Ibero-American States). This is their achievement, and it could not be more deserved.
These are girls who grew up in some of Paraguay's most isolated and underserved communities and from poor rural households where finishing school was never a given. They came to Mbaracayú and threw themselves into learning: growing crops, running small enterprises, studying environmental science, and developing the confidence to lead. "Hijas del Bosque" is the story of what happens when girls like these are given a chance, and it just earned international recognition to prove it.
This win follows a recent second-place finish at the IV Ibero-American Award for Innovation and Sustainable Development Goals, and together these honors place our students among the most recognized young rural leaders in the Ibero-American region.
Your support made it possible for these young women to be here, to study, to dream, and to win. Thank you for investing in them, they are proving, every day, that it was worth it.
