Dear Patrons,
We extend our heartfelt gratitude for the support you have provided to our organization in championing the Empowerment for Indigenous People project, aimed at uplifting the Batwa community in Rwanda.
This initiative was designed to empower the Batwa through access to resources and opportunities that promote socio-economic development. Unfortunately, the project faced significant hurdles, the most critical being a lack of sufficient funding, which ultimately prevented us from achieving the intended outcomes.
Challenges Encountered:
1. Financial Limitations:
From the outset, the project was constrained by a severe shortage of funds. This financial gap hindered the execution of vital components such as vocational training, healthcare programs, and income-generating micro-projects.
2. Restricted Scope of Activities:
The funding shortfall also limited the breadth of interventions. As a result, essential needs such as education, cultural preservation, and advocacy for land rights were left largely unaddressed.
3. Incomplete Capacity Building:
A key objective was to build the capacity of the Batwa community to become self-reliant. However, due to limited resources, we were unable to fully implement the necessary training sessions and skills development workshops.
4. Challenges to Sustainability:
The project aimed to establish long-term, sustainable solutions for the Batwa people. Unfortunately, without adequate funding, the development of income-generating activities and sustainable models was not feasible, making it difficult to preserve even the modest progress made.
Conclusion:
While the project's vision was noble and well-conceived, the lack of sufficient financial resources posed a significant barrier to its success. As a result, many of our goals to support and uplift the Batwa community could not be realized.
We remain committed to this mission and strongly believe in the transformative impact such a project can have with the right support. We kindly urge you to continue supporting this important cause—your contributions can make a lasting difference in the lives of marginalized indigenous communities.
With sincere appreciation,
[Mutiheba Jean Bosco
