Greetings!!
I am pleased to share first report of our project. I wish to inform you that Blind people’s association is one of the largest organizations working for peoples with disabilities in Gujarat. BPA believes in improving quality of lives of people with disabilities can live independent, can work and contribute in social, economic, personal life. To enable people with disabilities, to perform their role in society, require quality assistive device. For e.g people with visual impairment requires smart white can to walk independent. People who are polio suffers require good quality crutches, calipers and wheelchairs. People with hearing impairment require good quality digital hearing aids.
BPA is committed to provide good quality assistive devices to people with disabilities, which can enable them to perform their roles in society and improve quality of lives.
BPA has signed MOU with motivation UK for high quality customized wheel chairs to people with disabilities. This imitative would provide good quality wheel chairs to people with disabilities. These wheel chairs will be imported from United Kingdom and assembled in BPA. BPA has organized training programmed for their staff. The training has covered three components.
i) Assessment of people with disabilities.
ii) Understanding of imported wheel chairs.
iii) How to assemble imported wheel chairs as per the assessment of people with disabilities.
The cost of wheelchairs is Rs. 20000 IRS. 307 US $. The motivation U.K will provide there wheelchairs at subsidized rates to BPA. BPA has committed to provide 750 such wheelchairs. The first three wheelchairs were distributed to people with disabilities in last two months. We are very thankful to donors and well wishers to support these wheel chairs. We request you to spared a word with your family members, friends and like minded people or other too for such wonderful cause. You are associated and motivated them to be part of it.
Now, 497 people with disabilities are waiting for their turn.
