Dear Donor and Well Wishers!!

Greetings from India!!

Thank you very much for your generous support that encourages to provide services to poor and needy persons with disability. Your support has enabled persons with disability to participate in academic, economic, sports, social, and cultural activities. Your support is not for assistive devices, it gives mobility to people with physical impairment, it gives sounds to a hearing-impaired person, it gives mobility support to people with visual impairment. This support improves the quality of life of persons with disability. A person who crawls on the floor now can walk with pride with callipers, and crutch can move with wheelchairs. It increases self-worth and dignity.

I am happy to share the story of Aarti. Aarti is a 6-year young child with multiple disabilities. She lives with her parent in a very small hat in the village. Her father is a street vendor and earns 100 Rs a day. She has cerebral palsy, and intellectual disability since birth. Her muscles are so weak she is not able to sit. She lying on the floor. Her parent was so sad, and in pain to see her daughter in such a painful condition. The project staff met the parents during the home visit. They were counselled for physiotherapy treatment at the daycare centre of the organization. The physiotherapist suggested her parents purchase CP chair for Aarti. They are so poor, they can not afford to purchase such an expensive CP chair. They approached the project staff and requested them to help in getting CP Chair. The project staff provided a CP Chair to Aarti under the project Enabling Lives. Aarti now can sit, can eat in sitting position, and do her work in CP chair. Her quality of life has been improved.

Dream has come true

Ms.Sonal won Silver Medal at Para Table Tennis Costa Brava Championship.

Dear Donors,

I am Sonal from Gujarat. I was the student of the Blind People's Association, did my technical course from Industrial Training Centre of Blind People's Association. I always dream to travel the world and explore it. But my disability always makes me feel that I can not do that, and will not be possible. When I was in ITI, BPA asked me a question which was very silly to me. They asked me would you like to be a para table tennis player. I was reluctant about that. They counselled me and motivated me for the training session. They have provided facilities to me, I started to practice, and become very much interested in that. I was playing on normal wheelchair which was used for patients or people with disabilities. I played state and national level para table tennis championship. I won the matched and qualified for commonwealth games. It was very challenging for me to play against international players who use sports wheelchairs. Their wheelchairs were so attractive, light wheel and they can move very easily. It was very difficult for me to play against such a player. I always dreamt that I would have such a sports wheelchair. I waited for almost 10 years because it was very expensive and I can not afford the same. BPA has helped me to get this wheelchair with the support of Motivation UK and Donors of GlobalGiving. I am so happy to have such a world-class sports wheelchair. I feel TOP of the World. I participated in the Para Table Tennis Costa Brava Championship. I won silver Medal in Doubles. I thank Donors for your wonderful Gift and request you to support more people who are waiting for Angles.

Touching people changing lives

Greetings from BPA!!

We are much delighted to share with you that people with disabilities who have received the assistive devices under this project are very happy, satisfied. These devices have made very good impact on their personal, social, educational, and professional life.

The students of Nirma University, which is well know university in the state of Gujarat have conducted a study on uses, effectivness and impact of assistive devices. They visited persons with disabilities personally at their home, and collected their views on assitive devices provided to them. It was found during the study that digital hearing aids have made very big impact on school going children. The parents reported that their children have started uttering words, communicate with them and also participate in the school activites which was not happening before. The programmed hearing aids have improve their communication skills as well as allivated their behavior issues which was caused due to communication. We wish to share a success stories of hearing aid campagian that we launched in the state of Gujarat. We aim to provide best quality hearing aids to school going children hence they can learn, educate and build confidence.
