End animal cruelty in seven villages across Northern Nigeria with 35 motorized tricycles (five per village). In these areas, animals are used to transport goats, sheep, cassava, palm oil, and other farm produce, often under harsh conditions. This project replaces harmful practices with safer, motorized transport. Each tricycle comes with driver training and basic maintenance support. It will save animals from torture, suffering, sickness, and deaths.
In rural Northern Nigeria, animals are often used to transport goats, sheep, cassava, palm oil, and other produce. These loads are too heavy, leading to injury, fatigue, and poor treatment of the animals. Farmers also carry goods manually, which leads to crop damage and health problems. This causes loss of income, poor animal welfare, and long-term hardship for farming families.
The project will provide 35 motorized tricycles across seven villages and train local drivers on safe handling. The tricycles will replace the use of animals and head-loading for transporting goods like cassava, palm oil, and small livestock. This reduces strain on animals, prevents product loss, and saves time for farmers. Maintenance and fuel support will help keep the tricycles working for long-term use.
Motorized transport will save animals from torture, suffering, sickness, and deaths. It will also reduce crop damage, improve food quality, and allow families to earn more. Drivers trained in humane transport will set an example for others. Along the line, the villages will adopt better transport habits, leading to safer farming, healthier animals, and stronger local markets.
