Dear Donors,
Thank you to everyone who has supported the End Animal Cruelty in 7 Villages with 35 Tricycles project. Your support shows care for both rural families and the animals that are often forced to work under harsh and painful conditions.
In many villages across Northern Nigeria, animals are still used to transport heavy loads such as cassava, palm oil, goats, and sheep. These loads are often far beyond what the animals can handle, leading to injury, exhaustion, sickness, and sometimes death. Farmers also suffer, as manual transport causes product loss, physical strain, and reduced income.
This project is designed to provide 35 motorized tricycles across seven villages, with five tricycles per village. Local drivers will receive training on safe operation and basic upkeep. The tricycles will replace animal labor and head-loading, making it easier and safer to move farm produce and small livestock while protecting animals from harm.
At this time, although donations have been received, the funds available will not be able to kick start the project yet. Procurement of tricycles and driver training cannot begin until additional support is secured.
Once implementation begins, the tricycles will reduce animal suffering, limit crop damage, save time, and improve income for farming families. We will continue to share updates as progress is made.
Thank you for standing against animal cruelty and supporting safer farming practices.
Kind regards,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
