Dear Donors,
Thank you for supporting the End Animal Cruelty in 7 Villages with 35 Tricycles project. We sincerely appreciate your generosity and concern for both animal welfare and the wellbeing of farming communities.
In many rural communities, animals are used daily to transport agricultural produce and other goods over long distances. These animals are frequently exposed to excessive loads, difficult terrain, exhaustion, injuries, and poor health conditions. At the same time, farmers face transportation challenges that can result in damaged produce, reduced income, and delayed access to markets.
We are grateful for the donations received so far. However, the funds currently available are not sufficient to begin implementation of the project. Additional support is needed before procurement of tricycles, driver training, maintenance preparation, and distribution activities can commence.
This project aims to provide 35 motorized tricycles across seven villages to reduce dependence on animal-powered transport. The tricycles will help farmers move crops, agricultural products, and other goods more efficiently while reducing the burden placed on working animals. Local operators will also receive training on safe operation and basic maintenance to support long-term use.
Improved transportation can benefit both animals and farming families. Reducing excessive workloads on animals can help prevent injuries, illness, and premature deaths. At the same time, farmers can transport goods more quickly, reduce losses, and improve access to local markets.
Although implementation has not yet begun, we remain committed to bringing this intervention to the targeted communities. We continue working toward the resources required to launch the first phase and deliver practical transportation alternatives that benefit both people and animals.
We look forward to sharing future updates, photographs, and stories from participating villages as progress is made.
Thank you for helping promote humane treatment of animals while supporting rural livelihoods.
Warm regards,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
