Dear Valued Supporters and Partners,

I am pleased to share the latest report of the “End illiteracy in Pakistan by 2025” initiative by Global Education Campaign (GEC) through the Dosti Welfare Organization. We continue to advance the mission to eradicate illiteracy in Pakistan by kick starting community led schools for out-of-school children, particularly in Pakistan’s most underserved regions. Dosti One Room School Initiative has shown remarkable progress over the past months, marking another step forward in our journey towards a literate and empowered Pakistan.

From May to August 2024, Dosti successfully supported an additional 40,590 students, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 455,140. This achievement reflects significant growth and an encouraging momentum in our educational outreach efforts. However, the increasing demand for our One Room School Starter Kits indicates that there is still much work to be done. Presently, there are requests pending for 123,822 additional kits, underscoring the critical need for expanded support and resources to meet the rising demand.

GEC remains dedicated to reaching the most challenging and underserved territories in Pakistan. Our efforts continue to expand in the Newly Merged Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in Districts Kurram, Khyber, Mohmand, and Orakzai. Through collaboration with local communities and government bodies, we are bringing educational opportunities to areas that have historically lacked access to traditional infrastructure. Our One Room School Starter Kits remain a vital tool in these efforts, enabling quick establishment of learning spaces in remote regions and ensuring that more children experience education for the first time.

While we celebrate our achievements, we are acutely aware of the challenges that lie ahead. Inconsistent funding has impacted our ability to fully meet our targets; however, the support from our donors and partners has been invaluable in sustaining our efforts. To reach our ambitious goal of educating 1 million students by the end of 2024, we need to enroll an additional 544,860 students in the next four months. This monumental task requires substantial resources and unpredented commitment from our supporters.

As we continue to drive the Global Education Campaign forward, we invite individuals, communities, and organizations to join us in this noble cause. Your support is essential in helping us scale our efforts and extend our reach to more children who are waiting for their chance to learn and thrive. Every contribution counts, and with your help, we can move closer to a brighter future where every child in Pakistan has access to quality education.

Thank you for your continued belief in our mission and partnership. Together, we are making a significant impact—one child, one school, one community at a time.

With sincere gratitude,
