The aim of our project is to address challenges faced by adolescents girls and young women in the rural communities of Eshowe and the informal settlements of eThekwini, in South Africa. We aim to reach out to 2000 beneficiaries by: - Providing psychosocial support through individual counselling and group therapy - Support orphans and young girls who victims of abuse - Facilitate access to services - Enhance and strengthen the Capacity of communities
It is estimated that over 40% of South African women will be raped in their lifetime and that only 1 in 9 rapes are reported. It is also estimated that 14% of perpetrators of rape are convicted in South Africa. Orphans and adolecents girls are at a higher risk of being sexual abused.
Empower the orphans and young girls to report abuse through the development curriculm with 12 modules or sessions. advocate for the community to protect the rights of the children and yong women and take action to end it. facilitate community dialogues provide counselling through one on one sessions and group camps for victims
