Education and engagement are central to RCF's mission. Each year, more than 300 students participate in conservation education programs delivered at the reserve and through outreach activities. These programs provide hands-on learning experiences in rainforest ecology, biodiversity conservation, climate resilience and land stewardship. By connecting students and community members directly with conservation in action, RCF builds environmental awareness and fosters a sense of responsibility.
Many students and community members have limited opportunities to connect with and understand rainforest ecosystems. Without hands-on experiences, knowledge of biodiversity, conservation, and the importance of protecting species like the cassowary remains low, reducing community support for long-term rainforest protection.
Our program brings over 300 students each year to the reserve for hands-on learning about rainforest ecology, conservation, and cassowaries. By engaging students directly with the environment, we build knowledge, inspire stewardship, and foster lifelong support for protecting rainforest ecosystems.
By connecting over 300 students with hands-on rainforest experiences, the program builds environmental knowledge, inspires future conservation leaders, and fosters a community that values and actively protects rainforest ecosystems for generations to come.
