Project Report | Jun 24, 2025
News from March to June 2025

By Laurence LIGIER | Project Leader

Dear donors,

Our programs of Advocacy and Cirquera de CAMELEON have been sharing more light and raising awareness on our actions during different occasions through the period.

Bingawan’s Women's Month Celebration (March, 2025)

Together with Sangguniang Kabataan -a community council representing the local youth- officials, 13 CAMELEON Youth Advocates (CYA) contributed to the celebration of Women’s Month. The event was attended by 153 individuals: 127 school-based youth leaders, 16 parents, and 20 local officials. The Advocacy staff gave a talk on school-based violence. Meanwhile, the municipal council members and the mayor recognized the partnership between Bingawan and CAMELEON. They committed to continue the support to the organization and its advocacy program.

CYA Facilitates School and Community Awareness Campaign

The Voice of CAMELEON’s Children (VCC) facilitated 2 school lectures on UNCRC, Personal Safety, Reporting and Internet Safety to 126 primary learners (35 learners of Maganhop Elementary School-Bingawan and 91 learners of Pantalan Elementary School- Carles). They were also able to sensitize 30 children of Brgy. Ngingi-an.

The CAMELEON Youth Health Advocates (CYHA) also animated a community lecture on Reproductive Health, Consequences of Teenage Pregnancy, Internet Safety and HIV/AIDS orientation to 63 (45 youth and 18 adults/parents) from Brgy. Cairohan, Bingawan.

Cirquera de CAMELEON and Summer Camp

The circus teachers and trainers from the Cirquera de CAMELEON (CDC) Program worked hard with the girls during the whole period. 72 girls have been participating to the circus activity during the last three months: 52 from the Passi center, 20 from the Negros center.

From March to June, the CDC contributed to more than 3 shows in juggling, acrobatics and wings. Two social circus sessions were also facilitated in Agdahon and Man-it, Passi City, with a total of 227 participants (113 children, 68 teenagers, and 38 parents). The sessions were facilitated by 24 CDC members and 22 CYAs. The activities were fully supported by Mr. JM Apellado, Principal of Ramon Adriao Orozco Farm School, and Barangay Captain, Jeanette Dalipe of Man-it.

At the end of the school year, the Summer Camp celebrates both the arrival of Summer and the accomplishments of all beneficiaries just before graduation. The CDC offered a great showcase of the beneficiaries’ skills and progress.

Thanks to your generosity and continual support, our youth and Cirquera advocates can advance the cause of children's rights and raise awareness about violence against children.
