During the past few months, CAMELEON continued to support youth engagement, leadership development, and child protection through a range of activities involving the Cirquera de CAMELEON (CDC) and CAMELEON Youth Advocates.
In March, the Cirquera de CAMELEON participated in the opening ceremonies of the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association and the gymnastics opening program at the CAMELEON Gymnasium. These performances provided the girls with an opportunity to showcase the skills, discipline, and teamwork they have developed through the program, while promoting positive youth participation and community engagement. CAMELEON remains committed to working alongside local partners to create safe spaces where young people can learn, grow, and express their potential.
In April, CAMELEON brought together CDC members and Youth Advocates for a meaningful two-day Leadership and Psychological First Aid Training. Guided by a licensed professional teacher and a psychometrician, participants strengthened their leadership skills and learned how to respond with empathy, care, and responsibility in times of crisis. Rooted in CAMELEON’s commitment to child protection and community empowerment, the training equipped these young leaders with valuable knowledge, practical tools, and the confidence to support safer and more resilient communities. Beyond the training sessions, a bonfire fellowship created a space for reflection, gratitude, and connection, allowing participants to share experiences and strengthen the bonds that will support their future advocacy work.
In May, CDC members took part in a three-day team-building and wellness activity in Isla Gigantes. The gathering provided an opportunity for the girls to step away from their daily routines, strengthen relationships, and focus on their well-being. Through team-building exercises, reflection activities, and moments of rest, participants reinforced values such as cooperation, leadership, mutual support, and resilience. The experience helped strengthen unity within the group while promoting personal growth and emotional well-being.
These activities reflect CAMELEON’s commitment to empowering the next generation of changemakers by strengthening their leadership, confidence, and capacity to advocate for children's rights.
Thank you for your continued support in making these opportunities possible and helping young people build safer, more resilient communities.
