Project Report | Feb 17, 2026
News since October

By Laurence LIGIER | Project Leader

From October to December 2025, CAMELEON continued strengthening community empowerment, prevention, and youth leadership through a series of impactful initiatives. In October, communities from Barangay Liboo and Barangay Santo Tomas participated in a Community Social Circus program facilitated by Cirquera de CAMELEON members and Youth Advocates. Through interactive and age-appropriate circus activities, children and youth explored essential topics such as children’s rights, personal safety, reporting mechanisms, online protection, and the prevention of teenage pregnancy. This creative approach created a safe and engaging learning environment where education, self-expression, and advocacy came together, helping participants build confidence, resilience, and peer support.

In November, CAMELEON formally recognized the new members of Cirquera de CAMELEON (CDC) and the CAMELEON Youth Advocates (CYA) for 2025–2026. A total of 70 CDC members and 66 Youth Advocates were acknowledged for their leadership, dedication, and active role in awareness campaigns, peer education, and community engagement. The event celebrated their personal growth and the positive transformation often described as the “CAMELEON effect,” highlighting the power of youth participation in shaping safer and more inclusive communities.

As part of Children’s Month celebrations in November, CDC performers took part in a major public event, using circus arts as a platform for advocacy and awareness. Through powerful performances combining creativity and meaningful messages, they promoted children’s rights, resilience, and protection from abuse and exploitation. Their presence demonstrated how artistic expression can amplify young voices, inspire audiences, and strengthen collective commitment to safeguarding children.

In December, CAMELEON co-led the Break The Silence 2025 Conference in Bingawan alongside local government partners. The conference brought together 178 participants for a comprehensive orientation on strengthened child protection laws addressing sexual violence, exploitation, and online abuse, as well as survivor-centered case management protocols. Youth Advocates supported facilitation and peer discussions, reinforcing youth leadership in prevention efforts. Together, these initiatives reflect CAMELEON’s ongoing commitment to empowering young people, strengthening community awareness, and building safer environments for every child.

Thank you for your continued support in making this work possible.
