Every year, thousands of children in Nigeria are born with sickle cell disease (SCD), yet many are not diagnosed until they develop life-threatening complications. For families in rural communities, the cost of a simple newborn genotype test and essential enhanced vaccines is often beyond reach, leaving children vulnerable to preventable illness and early death.
Through GoGreen's "Enhanced Vaccines for Sickle Cell Kids in Nigeria" initiative, we are working to change this reality. By providing newborn genotype screening and enhanced vaccines for infants diagnosed with sickle cell disease, we can identify the condition early, prevent serious infections, and give children the healthy start they deserve.
Early diagnosis saves lives. Timely vaccination prevents complications. Together, these simple interventions can dramatically reduce child mortality and spare families the emotional and financial burden of repeated hospitalizations.
Your support will help ensure that no child is denied a chance to survive and thrive simply because their family cannot afford a test or a vaccine. Together, we can give vulnerable children a healthier future—one newborn, one family, and one community at a time.
Thank you for partnering with GoGreen to protect the lives of children living with sickle cell disease.
