This project plans to enhance the children's reading skills by making available phonic books, phonic audiovisual and flashcards. It intend to assist 1000 children that are not schooling since four years because they are victims of an ongoing arm conflict in Anglophone Cameroon. Our Target is Bui Division in the North West Region.
The ongoing war for almost four years in English Speaking part of Cameroon (NW and SW Regions) have made thousands of children at their initial stage of education from 3-14 years victims who can no longer go to school especially those in the rural areas. According to the statistics presented by UNICEF there are about 800.000 children who are out of school in the NW Region and in the SW Region. This has greatly affected the reading skills of children in Bui Division in the NW Region.
This project will help children to develop good reading, writing, listening and comprehensive skill together with good English assents, that can guarantee for them a successful and a happy life in the present and in the future. This project will help children to regain their power of concentration, diversify and enrich their daily experiences and rescue them from the risk of seeing education in future as a heavy load as they have been abandoned in this situation for too long.
The project will educate 1000 children to read allowing them to rise out of illiteracy to advance in life. The project will promote good English sounds, and good pronunciation in the communities since the mostly speak in vernaculars and Pidgin English. Since reading is always a problem these sustainable tools will be handed to the community for lending. When children will get back to school after the war and COVID-19 situation, they will continue to us them from one generation to the next.
