Project Report: 5 Water Coolers Installed – Access to Clean Water Expanded! Update Summary

We are delighted to report that Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, with the generous support of GlobalGiving and its donors, has successfully installed 5 water coolers in five different community locations, including schools, masjids, and madrasas. These water coolers now provide safe and clean drinking water to over 3,000 beneficiaries daily—students, teachers, worshippers, and local residents.

This project supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6: Clean Water & Sanitation, advancing our mission to provide clean, affordable, and accessible water for all.

Story of Change

At one of the schools where a water cooler was installed, the principal shared just how impactful this addition has been. Previously, students had limited access to clean drinking water, especially during the hot summer months. Dehydration and fatigue were common, affecting both health and academic performance.

After the installation, the principal remarked:

"This water cooler is a blessing for our school. The students are happier, more attentive in class, and overall healthier. We are extremely grateful to Alkhidmat Foundation and the donors who made this possible."

One student added, “We used to bring warm water from home, and it was hard to stay hydrated. Now we get cool, clean water whenever we need it!”

This single act of installing a cooler has dramatically improved the school environment and student well-being.

Use of Funds / Progress

Thanks to the generosity of GlobalGiving donors, we were able to:

• Procure and install 5 water coolers equipped with advanced filtration systems.

• Select high-need locations where clean water access was minimal or non-existent.

• Partner with local stakeholders to ensure long-term maintenance and operation.

Each cooler now supports hundreds of daily users, collectively serving more than 3,000 individuals.

Future Plans / Next Steps

With this success, we are inspired to expand the project. Our next steps include:

• Installing coolers in 5 more underserved locations, especially rural schools and healthcare facilities.

• Launching hygiene awareness sessions alongside water cooler installations.

• Developing a sustainability model with local partners for maintenance and monitoring.
