The Democratic Republic of the Congo continues to face severe instability, disrupting local supply chains and trade. These ongoing conflicts have driven food prices up sharply across the region, making basic staples like maize, beans, and oil increasingly difficult to afford. For street-connected children, securing even one meal a day on the open market has become a major hurdle.
Despite these rising costs, Kimbilio remains a reliable refuge. Providing daily, hot, nutritious meals across our sites does more than nourish the children- it offers stability, restores dignity, and creates a comforting family environment amid external uncertainty. Our team works continuously to keep our kitchens stocked so that every child in our care receives regular, healthy food.
Maintaining a steady food supply in an inflationary environment requires ongoing, reliable funding.
