This initiative partners Action10 with Human Rights & Science (HR&S) to empower social entrepreneurs across Uganda. By offering tailored business loans (from USD 200-USD 1 000) and comprehensive training in financial management, market analysis, and risk mitigation, we enable restaurateurs, technicians, and farmers to invest in equipment, expand operations, and create jobs-fueling locally driven growth and community resilience.
Ugandan entrepreneurs face prohibitive barriers: banks demand high collateral and charge steep interest, while limited business skills leave many unable to adapt to market shifts. Youth unemployment tops 20%, and small-scale farmers and service providers struggle with volatile prices and operational costs. Without capital or training, businesses stall, trapping communities in poverty.
Action10 and HR&S provide accessible business loans (USD 200-1 000) alongside hands-on training in budgeting, pricing strategy, and market adaptation. Entrepreneurs invest in essential equipment-such as salon chairs, solar tools, or processing kits-and learn to forecast demand, manage cash flow, and mitigate risks. Ongoing mentorship ensures they apply new skills to grow sustainable, resilient enterprises
With reliable financing and strategic know-how, entrepreneurs can scale ventures-from full-service salons and repair shops to commercial farms-creating stable incomes for families and hiring youth. Over five years, we anticipate 500 businesses serving 50 000 customers monthly, generating 1 200 new jobs, and diversifying local economies-laying the foundation for Uganda's inclusive, sustained prosperity.
