Pretola Global Health and Consulting Limited successfully conducted clinician training this year. Recently we have edited the on our GlobalGiving page in readiness for the next Epilepsy Assessment and Management Course 6.0 (EAMC), scheduled for 2025. The EAMC is a free, four-month virtual training program designed for clinicians in low- to middle-income countries who want to keep up with the latest research in epilepsy management and improve patient outcomes.

EAMC 6.0 will feature a special session on Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP), focusing on assessing and managing associated risks to prevent SUDEP. It will also address the ethical question of when is the right time to discuss SUDEP with patients, families, and caregivers, as well as the barriers—including stigma and cultural factors—that prevent discussing SUDEP with people with epilepsy and their families? The edition will also deliver

Additionally, the course will include training sessions on Dravet syndrome. The EAMC, which is offered by Pretola Global Health and Consulting Limited based in the United Kingdom, has been running for three months each year ; in 2025, it will extend to four months, from January to April.

We are currently collaborating with Ekwendeni College of Health Sciences, Malawi College of Health Sciences in Blantyre, Lilongwe, and Zomba campuses to host the EAMC 6.0 in their institutions in 2025. The Blantyre District Health Office and Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital have also been engaged in this initiative. So far, 26 clinicians have registered through our website, along with 24 lecturers and 86 nursing students from Ekwendeni College of Health Sciences who will attend the course. This marks the first time the course in Malawi will also reach nursing students in training.
