Imagine 100 out-of-school youth in Niger State gaining the skills to earn a sustainable income and escape unemployment. This project will establish a computer lab and provide hands-on training in essential digital skills, online safety, and basic graphic design/data entry. By connecting youth to freelance and formal work opportunities, we create a pathway to self-reliance, economic mobility, and long-term community development.
Niger State's youth face high unemployment and limited access to digital education. Many lack the skills required for today's economy, leaving them idle and vulnerable to social risks. By bridging this skills gap, our project empowers youth to secure jobs or start digital ventures. Donors' support will directly reduce inequality, foster economic independence, and strengthen the resilience of vulnerable young people in the community.
We will create a fully equipped computer lab with 20 computers, internet access, and power backup. A 3-month certified program will teach computer basics, Microsoft Office, internet research, and an introduction to digital freelance platforms. Additional workshops on soft skills, CV writing, and professional development will be included. Top graduates will access internships or seed funding to launch small digital services.
Supporting this project will turn 100 youth from dependents into productive contributors to their households and communities. Graduates will gain access to local and online work, increasing household income and reducing social tensions. A skilled, digitally literate workforce will attract new business to the region, creating long-term economic growth, reducing youth unemployment, and fostering sustainable development in Niger State.
