Teenage mothers in Nigeria face stigma, lack of income, and limited access to education. Many struggle to provide for their children, leading to poverty cycles. This project will train 500 teenage mothers in business skills such as tailoring, hairdressing, and small trade management. With practical training and starter kits, they will be able to earn steady incomes and secure better futures for themselves and their children.
Teenage mothers often drop out of school and are left without skills to support themselves or their children. Many face poverty, stigma, and dependence on unstable jobs or unsafe relationships. Without income-generating skills, they cannot break free from hardship. Communities also lose potential contributors to the local economy when young mothers are excluded from opportunities.
The project will train 500 teenage mothers in marketable business skills such as tailoring, catering, and small trading. Each participant will receive hands-on instruction, business training, and starter kits. By providing both skills and tools, these mothers will have immediate opportunities to generate income, care for their children, and reduce reliance on unsafe alternatives.
With business skills and starter kits, teenage mothers can create stable income sources and secure better futures for their families. Their children will benefit from improved nutrition, education, and stability. As more mothers succeed, they will inspire others in their communities to pursue training instead of giving up hope. In the long term, this project will strengthen families and reduce poverty.
