Summary

This project will equip 1,000 power plant workers in Ukraine, who are constantly targeted by Russian missile strikes on the country's energy infrastructure, with life-saving first aid kits and critical medical training. These workers are vital to maintaining power under dangerous conditions. By providing immediate medical resources and training, we aim to reduce fatalities and injuries, enhancing their ability to respond to emergencies.

Challenge

Power plant workers in Ukraine are facing constant missile strikes as Russian forces target the country's energy infrastructure. These workers are vital to keeping the power grid operational, yet they are left highly vulnerable in dangerous conditions. They lack access to adequate first aid and medical supplies to address life-threatening injuries caused by these attacks. With government resources stretched thin due to the ongoing war, this urgent civilian need remains unmet.

Solution

We will equip power plant workers with life-saving first aid kits, including CAT Gen7 tourniquet, hemostatic and sterile bandages, NAR compressed gauze, PerSys 6 emergency trauma bandage, medical gloves, atraumatic scissors, permanent marker, thermal blanket, adhesive plaster, and reinforced adhesive tape. Workers will also receive training to use these supplies during emergencies. The kits will be strategically installed and distributed at power plant facilities, ensuring easy access for staff.

Long-Term Impact

By using a "train-the-trainer" model, key personnel will be empowered to pass their knowledge to others, ensuring ongoing preparedness across the workforce. This approach will establish a network of trained civilian responders, ready to handle emergencies during missile strikes, significantly reducing injuries and fatalities over time.
