The ERM Brazil Philanthropic Fund in support of Rio Grande do Sul is an initiative of ERM Brazil, the largest global consulting company dedicated exclusively to sustainability, in partnership with Sitawi, a non-profit organization that develops financial infrastructure for the Impact Economy. The funds raised will be allocated first to ERM Brazil employees impacted by the climate and their respective communities.
During the months of April and May, the southern region of Brazil was impacted by torrential rains, and the situation was delicate specifically in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, where floods affected more than 460 cities and left more than 500,000 people displaced. The floods devastated much of the infrastructure of many cities in the state, impacting approximately 2 million people.
The ERM Brazil Fund aims to leverage resources to support families, animals and the community impacted by the floods in Rio Grande do Sul by raising financial donations and doubling its collection through matchfunding, that is, for every R$ 1.00 raised in donations, ERM Brasil will contribute another R$ 1.00. The funds raised will be allocated first to ERM Brazil employees impacted by the climate catastrophe and their respective communities.
We know that the situation Rio Grande Do Sul is facing is also a result of climate change. Now that the waters have receded below flood levels, the time has come to support the rebuilding lives of those impacted by the floods. So that they can review their material possessions, but especially the security of their families and their dreams.
