Summary

The Bulan Institute, in partnership with the Kyrgyz State Technical University (KSTU), is establishing a Renewable Energy Training Centre in Bishkek. We currently operate a solar classroom and now aim to transform this classroom into a fully equipped training and research centre dedicated to solar and wind technologies. With your support this Giving Tuesday, we will purchase the equipment and furniture needed to create a modern, hands-on learning space for future renewable energy specialists.

Challenge

Kyrgyzstan faces a shortage of trained professionals who can design, install, and maintain renewable energy systems. Although demand for clean energy solutions is rising, educational institutions lack the adequate curriculum, equipment, and practical training environments needed to build technical expertise. We need to create a dedicated facility and adequately prepare a workforce capable of driving the country`s renewable energy transition.

Solution

We are expanding our existing solar classroom into a comprehensive Renewable Energy Training Centre at KSTU. This centre will: -Provide hands-on training in solar and wind energy -Equip professional energy specialists and students with practical skills -Support applied research on hybrid and sustainable energy systems -Strengthen national capacity to expand renewable energy adoption -Serve as a long-term technical resource hub for Kyrgyzstan and the region

Long-Term Impact

With your support, the centre will: -Train 80-100 specialists annually -Build a skilled workforce capable of expanding solar and wind energy nationwide -Support researchers in developing innovative energy solutions -Strengthen Kyrgyzstan's energy independence and climate resilience -Contribute to sustainable development across Central Asia This centre will have a lasting impact by empowering students, supporting educators, and helping Kyrgyzstan accelerate its transition to clean energy.
