Eve of the Factory

The burden of financial responsibility combined with the social stigma and being the target of predatory behavior all make the topic far weightier and more complicated than it appears to the eye. I am talking about single mothers. Add to that that many work two jobs and have to raise their kids single-handedly, and you can imagine the burden that single mothers in Egypt carry.

That is why Not Guilty started training sessions for parenthood or motherhood, as they feel isolated on so many levels.

Many feel they cannot be the perfect parent they want to be.

One such case is Amina, who said she realized she married the wrong father for her children. "He was not providing for us; he was an alcoholic and very violent at home with me and with the kids. Deciding to divorce him was terrifying since I never worked a day in my life. But I also realized that my children would be lost if he continued living with us."

She started working at a medical clinic at the age of 47. She excelled and was promoted to director of that clinic at the age of 50.

Now, her older son has graduated and married, and her daughter has graduated and is working.

Not Guilty has walked beside her for the past 12 years, with parental support, moral support, and sometimes financial support.

Amina is just one example of many who walk through the doors of Not Guilty, not knowing that they have walked into a safe space that will help her get through the rough patches in life.

Not Guilty parental training is just a stepping stone to encourage lonely mothers, empower them in their motherhood journey, and provide a safe space for them.

Year to date, we have trained and encouraged over 200 mothers and counting.

Working women rarely have time to spend quality time with their kids.
We hear this a lot when we train kids and teenagers.
Not Guilty orchestrated a unique event, 'From Storm to Peace ', specifically for working mothers and their teenage daughters. This was a rare opportunity for twelve working women to come together with their daughters.
Not Guilty designed a workshop where the mothers would get together and write on a board the answer to "If I were my daughter, I would.."
The daughters, on the other hand, had a board with the following: "If I were my mother, I would..."
After that, we started discussing the answers.
The workshop was an emotional journey filled with tears, misconceptions, apologies, and moments of realization. Many expressed, 'I never realized you needed this.'
Simple things like being there when I wake up to go to school, or I wish you would say you are sorry when you are wrong, were some of the things the daughters expressed.
The realization of the need for conversation and communication was very obvious to both mothers and daughters.
Not Guilty cares about working mother, not only about abuse and bullying but also about taking care of themselves and their families.
The women enjoyed this so much and said that for the first time in a long time, they had a real conversation with their daughters. They were able to express their feelings without losing their temper and listened to each other's perspectives, fostering a deeper understanding and connection.
