Education Venezuela "E-VEN" offers educational opportunities for children and adults living in Los Roques and Canaima, two highly touristic difficult access communities in Venezuela. By teaching demographically adapted English focused on 3 main pillars; tourism, conservation, and civic values E-VEN aims to promote economic diversification and growth by diminishing the communication barrier. E-ROQ Project offers educational tools to rural communities of difficult access. We used to travel to Los Roques to teach demographically adapted English with a focus on sustainable tourism. However, due to the pandemic we haven't been able to access the Archipelago, therefore, we created a virtual strategy to reach our students who live far away from civilization (128km from mainland) and ensure they continue to receive education despite the circumstances.
The purposes of the campaign are to gather enough funds to afford the expensive logistic expenses we undergo month after month to reach our beloved communities, additionally we guarantee connectivity sources for the children that are unable to access our remote classes due to their baseline poverty status or geographic location. We aim to increase the level of literacy and improve future employment opportunities in the tourism sector through competitive tools
One of our main objectives is to build the future we hope for Venezuela, in which the economy is not only dependent on the oil industry but on multiple affairs, including sustainable tourism. As an organization, we aim to highlight the touristic potential of hard-to-reach locations and to empower the community to develop touristic activity by allowing them to communicate freely with their customers. Our potential long-term impact is to increase tourism and internet connectivity on the island.
