By Isabella Rondon | Finance Department's Volunteer
Dear Donors and Friends,
We are reaching out to share a vital update on how E-VEN Project is actively navigating and responding to the current evolving situation in Venezuela. Over the past weeks, the country has faced complex structural challenges that directly impact the daily lives of families and children across our focus communities. In moments like these, our commitment to staying present, agile, and impactful becomes more critical than ever.
ON-THE-GROUND CRISIS RESPONSE & VOLUNTEER MOBILIZATION
While our core mission remains centered on empowering communities through language education, the immediate urgency of the current landscape required our incredible network of volunteers to step up in extraordinary ways.
Moving beyond the classrooms, our team has actively mobilized to provide multifaceted humanitarian support on the frontline.
E-VEN volunteers have rolled up their sleeves to act as interpreters for international support networks, coordinate logistics for local assembly lines, and establish crucial collection points (acopio) for clothing, food, and essential medical supplies.
AMPLIFYING IMPACT THROUGH COLLABORATION
We deeply believe that no organization can solve systemic challenges alone. To maximize the reach and efficiency of our relief efforts, E-VEN has forged a strategic frontline alliance with Sunrisas, our main partner organization in this emergency response. By pooling our resources, volunteer networks, and distribution channels, we are helping ensure that critical aid reaches the most vulnerable sectors transparently, and without duplication of efforts.
DESIGNING THE FUTURE: FROM EMERGENCY TO RESILIENCE
As we continue supporting the immediate necessities of rescue teams, first responders, and local shelters, E-VEN is simultaneously looking forward. True empowerment requires transitioning from immediate emergency relief into sustainable, long-term programs. This vision is already taking shape through targeted efforts like our support for the family of Alessandro (one of our cherished students from Los Roques), whose relatives in La Guaira were directly affected by this situation, serving as a vital reference point as we build a broader blueprint. We are officially in the initial design phase of a specialized program tailored to serve children residing in temporary shelters and central collection hubs. This initiative aims to restore a sense of normalcy, safety, and continuous learning through structured educational workshops, psychological support, and recreational activities.
It is important to note that, up to this point, E-VEN has not received direct funding for these emergency relief efforts; all frontline actions by our volunteers have been driven either through personal contributions or under the logistical umbrella of Sunrisas. However, as we transition into this next phase, we will soon launch a dedicated fundraising initiative to fully back this newly designed shelter project.
Every single coordination meeting, collected resource, and designed program is fueled entirely by your unwavering trust and generosity. You are enabling us to look beyond the immediate crisis and lay down the foundation for sustainable recovery and education.
Thank you for standing with Venezuela and for being an indispensable part of our journey!
Warm regards,
