In the remote hamlet of Pacanguilla (La Libertad), Suly, a resilient nine-year-old, faced a daily one-hour trek to reach Quito Elementary School. Hindered by the pandemic and economic constraints, she missed critical years of her primary education. Upon finally joining the third grade, Suly found herself academically lagging behind, often becoming disheartened by her struggles with letters and numbers.

But in July, a heartwarming transformation took root, driven by the remarkable collaboration between Suly, her devoted mother, and her dedicated teacher, Albert. While Suly's mother was a steadfast support, it was Albert, a participant in Enseña Perú's leadership program, who played a pivotal role. He provided extra support and encouragement, both in and out of the classroom, motivating Suly to push her boundaries. What truly shone in this tale is Suly's unwavering determination. She tirelessly worked to bridge the gaps in her education, slowly but surely making progress. Her classmates witnessed her dedication and became her enthusiastic cheerleaders.
