Help Revolutionize Education For Peruvian Children

We are thrilled to share the inspiring journey of Yaritza, a sixth-grade student at I.E. 22489 in Pisco, Ica, whose story exemplifies the power of determination and support within the Enseña Perú program.

Yaritza had always struggled with a profound fear of speaking in public. Each time she was asked to present or stand in front of the class, she would experience panic attacks. When she finally managed to step forward, she would cover her face and speak with trembling fear. Recognizing this challenge, Luis, her teacher and an Enseña Perú Professional, decided to adopt a team-based approach to help Yaritza overcome her anxiety.

Luis, understanding Yaritza's potential, implemented strategies to support her in overcoming her fear. He assigned her to a supportive group that provided constant encouragement and reassurance. Moreover, Luis worked diligently to create a classroom environment where presenting was not a source of fear but an opportunity for growth.

In his lessons, Luis made sure to give Yaritza a prominent role in areas where she excelled, such as mathematics. He encouraged her active participation, always highlighting her abilities and strengths, and motivating her to share her opinions. He made it clear that both he and her classmates valued her contributions.

Thanks to these combined efforts, Yaritza began to show remarkable progress. Although the challenge of strengthening this skill persists, today Yaritza can present with much greater confidence, demonstrating that she is capable of overcoming her fears. This progress is a testament to the positive impact of education and emotional support in student development.
