Help Revolutionize Education For Peruvian Children

THANK YOU for your generous donations! The children of Julcan sponsored by you have had a grate year, where they have had an extraordinary academic growth and also improve their social skills. Check the charts attached.

• We started the year with 67% of our students with an academic delay of between 1 and 2 years. By the end of the year only 8% kept this academic gap.
• Furthermore, 54% of children reach academics goals that are 

 We care a lot for their social habilities because they grow in an enviroment that often don´t allow them to express themselves and excercise leadership. 

Let´s read!

One academic program that was implemented was "Let's read" which had as its main objective to promote the habit of reading and using this to develop other skills. This was carried out with the following activities:

• It began with storytelling for children to begin to be interested in reading
• The goal establisehd was to read 20 books per year (Suitable for age of the child)  
• "Speed reading" exercises which the children spent reading 60 words per minute to 135 words to date.
• "Reading fairs" where children went to the main squares of the city to explain to their families and local people about the books they had read, where in addition to having to read and prepare his speech, reinforcing their social skills were performed.

At the beginning it was a bit complicated because reading was never a habit and even it was hard to find if you want a book at home, but with a gradual strategy and learning through examples and games for children. The result at the end of the year was surprising since in some cases the return of the mid-year vacation had already reached some children read up to 15 books.
