We are closing the process of recruiting and selecting the 2017-2018 promotion of Enseña Perú professionals and we wanted to share with you a little bit about how we ended 2016:
44% of our students achive grades over 15 and just 21% were under 10 ( In Perú grades go from 0 to 20)
39 Projects designed and carried out by students. All focused on contributing to their community while learning and developing skills
+45 Alumni of the program are working in the ministry of education, two of them with managerial positions
Thank you for being a key piece this year full of inspiring achievements and stories, thanks for being part of this movement for education. Your generous personal contribution enables us to do more every year. If you want to know more about what is behind those figures, we invite you to read lines down at the end of the mail.
We also want to share with you the excitement and the great challenge we have for this year, as we hope to have the largest promotion so far, incorporating 90 PEPs (Enseña Perú´s Professionals) into the program, which brings us a little closer to achieving our dream. There are many new things we should learn to do on this new scale, and we hope to count on you to do so. We hope you have had a happy holiday and that this 2017 is full of challenges and successes. For an education of excellence for all the children and young people of the country.

Of those data Results in the classroom:
• At the beginning of the year 2016, after the diagnostic test we found that 7 out of 10 students had one or two years of academic delay (gap), however, in standardized tests at the end of the year, we can say that this Has dropped to 2 out of 10. In addition, students with a level of excellence (grades 18-20) have gone from 4% to 14%.
Student Leadership:
• This 2016 has been a great year not only because of classroom results, but also outside of it. Thirty-nine students projects were carried out, the year with more projects. Many of them have been finalists in national competitions, generating recognition, travel, learning and even several students have been invited by the local press to tell their experiences and more people find out about their projects.
• A great example is the students of Carlos Homar Lozano, winners of the National Contest of the Ministry of Education "Ideas en Acción" with its Eco Tourism project "The Tunsho guides" representing Junín, and students from 4th and 5th grades Of Silvana Cruz, who decided to start an English school for elementary children "Teaching to learn" since in their locality, Yauli, in the Oroya, there are no academies where they can learn the language. This would also allow them to practice and master what they have learned in class, and even are already making a small alliance with the municipality.
• We firmly believe that the true achievement is that students are aware of the needs of their community and that they themselves can be agents of change and generate positive impact from where they are.
Impact alumni:
• At the end of 2016 year our Alumni community grow 240 professionals, who will continue to work for education. We wanted to share also that there are more than 45 graduates of the program working in the education ministry and highlight the work of two Alumni in particular, Diana Prudencio, current Director of the Division of Secondary Education and Marcia Rivas the General of Management General of Specialized Educational Services, which fills us with joy and motivation.
From classroom to the movement:
• Finally, in case you have not seen it, we would love that you see the story of the movement that has begun to weave in the education of the country, through Kimberly's eyes. Her story turns into, many stories, a movement.
