City Center Initial Expansion Has Been Funded!

By Rachel Goble | President

We’re thrilled to share some good news: our Chiang Rai City Center expansion has been fully funded for the next two years!

This was made possible by three groups of generous supporters.

Individual donors continue to be the financial backbone of our work. Through our sharing of the powerful stories of the children and youth we work with (made possible by donors), more and more creative and compassionate people have continued to be inspired to act, and this action makes our work possible.

At the end of 2015, One Day’s Wages (ODW) joined with us in a matching campaign. ODW is a grassroots movement of people, stories, and actions to alleviate extreme global poverty. Thanks to ODW’s fantastic team, SOLD’s dedicated supporters, and the generosity of many donors, we not only met our goal but exceeded it!

At the beginning of 2016, we received a generous grant from The Wyss Foundation. After a successful career in life-saving medical science, Hansjorg Wyss created the Wyss Foundation in 1998 to support innovative, lasting solutions that improve lives, empower communities, and strengthen connections to the land. We’re thrilled and grateful to have The Wyss Foundation partner in our work.

The support we receive from individual donors, movements, and foundations makes our work possible. But it goes further in inspiring all of us at SOLD to work our hardest to actualize our mission through the effective and efficient use of the resources we have been entrusted with to prevent child trafficking and exploitation. While we are thankful that our expansion has been funded, we continue to rely on the support of generous and passionate people in our work to prevent child exploitation.

Thank you for partnering with us, and may we all continue to seek justice for the vulnerable.
