After a long wait and months of isolation, this October, ACER Brasil's sports activities were resumed and one of them was Rugby. Both students and teachers had to adapt to the new protocols to ensure everyone's safety and still continue the activities.
Right at the entrance, body temperature is measured, hand hygiene with gel alcohol and feet on the carpet, disposable gloves are placed and children are directed to the place of activities, always respecting a safe distance.
Emilly, 17, is one of the monitors in the sports team and spoke briefly about the resumption of classes in this new structure: “When the activities resumed, the beginning was a little complicated, without students, unaccustomed to the new methods of protection and all the care, but now we are progressing better in this situation and we are having a good result. In relation to students, they are lost a little in the organization due to the new form of security, but who is not? Even we make little mistakes. However, the return of activities made us feel good, we missed interacting, doing something to distract ourselves and expend energy. At least the students who resumed at the beginning continue to come, it is a good sign ”.
Despite the adaptations of the new methods, the students are very happy with the return of Rugby activities, which are taking place in the theatre at ACER's community centre. According to a 14-year-old student, resuming training was very good and he added: “Even with all the care, the important thing is that we are not losing content, we can learn in the same way as before”.
Gradually, we are adapting and being able to make the most of face-to-face activities, as it is important to continue transforming the lives of children and young people through Rugby and other activities, because many of them do not have other opportunities to develop sports skills. Without forgetting to always prioritize the safety and well-being of players and employees.
