Rifugio Jill Phipps, located in Albugnano, in the province of Asti, was founded in 2016 by two long-time vegan activists. A corner of the world where non-human animals can live free from the domination and oppression ingrained in society. We urgently need help to safeguard the area once and for all and acquire an additional 6 hectares of meadows and woodlands to incorporate them into the existing refuge area. Other help is always welcome for the maintenance of the animals of refuge about 200.
We opened the refuge at the end of 2016 by purchasing a farmhouse and land. Over time, the number of animals has increased, and now we have the opportunity to acquire and merge the adjacent lands with ours. The expansion we have in mind would serve multiple purposes, create large grazing areas for herbivores, while a part will be used to expand the refuge area dedicated to pigs, protect biodiversity and wildlife too.
The expansion will allow us to rescue more animals, give more space to those already present, protect wildlife and biodiversity and organize guided tours with school classes to raise awareness of issues such as respect for animals and the nature.
Educate hundreds of people to respect animals, meeting them in a context where they live free from exploitation, save other animals in need.
