The Family Caregiver Support Program provides emotional, practical, and financial support to caregivers of patients with serious illnesses in Ghana. Donations help reduce caregiver burnout, improve patient care, and strengthen family resilience.
Family caregivers play a critical role in caring for loved ones living with cancer and other serious or chronic illnesses. In Ghana, caregivers often face emotional stress, financial hardship, and physical exhaustion, as they must balance caregiving with work and family responsibilities-often without training, support, or financial assistance.
This program provides practical, emotional, and financial support to family caregivers. Funds will support caregiver training, counseling services, respite care, basic stipends or care supplies, and educational resources to help caregivers provide safe and effective care while protecting their own well-being.
By supporting caregivers, the program strengthens family-based care systems and improves long-term patient outcomes. Empowered caregivers are better equipped to sustain care, maintain family stability, and reduce the need for emergency hospital visits.
